The importance of marking occasions

This evening a client is taking me out for dinner to celebrate. I worked with them and their business extensively for around eighteen months up until the end of last year and, as we finished that engagement, they told me they wanted to take me out for dinner in the new year to celebrate our work together.

A simple gesture, yet a powerful one, to take time and focus to mark an occasion, to acknowledge, to celebrate.

Always take time to acknowledge people (and be specific in your acknowledgement), it is important to mark occasions.
