Want to meet? Let’s walk

Today I arrived back in London early morning on an overnight flight from Cayman. It was a beautiful and sunny winter’s day.

I’d arranged to meet up with someone, they then had to be somewhere else in town for their next meet up. We made the most of the day by taking time for a long walk between the two places, then I left them to it and headed back home.

A lovely way to spend time and reminded me of the power of walking meetings.

I think I originally started to consciously think about using walking for work meetings by Nilofer, who reminded me again through a recent tweet.

So, if you’d like to meet up, let’s walk! (PS do watch her brief TED talk, simple and powerful).

Oh, and when I searched for images of walkings meetings, EVERYBODY was wearing formal business clothing, almost as if it is such a paradigm shift to get outside to meet that they have to say “look, I’m still working”. Walking meetings are SO productive, give yourself a break, wear comfortable clothes!
